This stairwell located inside a former Hotel was the most grandiose hotel of the city at the end of the 19th century. It hosted many famous writers and composers who visited the city. Another interesting fact is that it was the first building in the city that got electricity installed.
Nowadays the building is residential and heavily under renovation. The workers were working on the outside of the building. The interior inside was luckily still untouched when I took these shots. The stairwell showed its charm and history that has been unchanged for more than one century. It will need some restoration soon though because the first floor was sloping a lot.
