With its seven floors, Hotel Tbilisi was an immense appearance. After entering the hotel the patio on the ground floor immediately caught my attention. The four palm trees in each corner were still standing strong and rose as high as the third floor.
Sunset was about to happen so I rushed upstairs and discovered the building has a roof terrace where visitors could enjoy the amazing view surrounded by mountain rich horizons.
The construction of the Hotel finished in 1951. After the collapse of the Soviet-Union, all hotels in the region got abandoned. Now, most of the rooms are occupied by IDP’s. They fled out of Abkhazia during the war in 1992 and got situated inside the abandoned buildings in Tskaltubo.
