A few kilometers from the coast up in the hills this amazing palace was hidden behind overgrown trees. From the second floor and the roof, the owners would have had an amazing view down the hills with the Black Sea on the horizon.
The palace was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Designed by a Georgian architect who got inspired by Italian architecture from that period. The palace has a long history. The daughter of a Russian emperor lived in the palace. During WWII the building was turned into a hospital. It also functioned as a children's home. The last occupants were IDP’s from Abkhazia who lived there for a few years.
Sadly nobody looked after the building the last few decades. The palace is decayed heavily and there was nothing indicating a future renovation.
