The rooms inside this French castle are a great example of classicism, with its symmetric compositions and decorative elements. The history of the castle dates back to the end of the 17th-century when the construction began. The built was eventually completed at the beginning of the 18th-century.
The area which covers 180 hectares was owned by many different families. In the eighties, it was sold to a Japanese couple. They bought the castles. But only to pillage it importing the treasures inside into their country. Due to this, the castle was abandoned after it was emptied from all its furniture and decorations. No maintenance took place since then resulting in some decay.
Nonetheless, there are plans to transform the 180-hectare estate into a tourist destination. Big investments are made but progress is going slowly.
