Italy is known for its beautiful lakes with panoramic views. Surrounded by mountains it's a delight to drive around the edge of the lakes on the winding roads. Living in such a spot would be a dream for many. That makes it even more unusual to find a villa located in the area that is not inhabited.
The current structure was built in the 19th-century around a medieval tower that was present there from the 7th-century. It was inhabited by some well-known people. A Napoleonic minister and a Polish prince spend some time of their lives on the estate. The villa is surrounded by an enormous garden with a size of six hectares. The estate even has two viewing platforms that tip over the edge of the steep mountainside provide a breathtaking view.
The villa must have been abandoned for quite some time. Big parts of the structures have collapsed. Also, the medieval tower is completely gone. It truly must have been an amazing place to live back in the days.

Previous visit in 2018
Two years earlier I also visited the estate. That morning it was very cloudy resulting in the outside shots having a totally different mood. Not the shots I had in mind. This type of light was perfect for capturing great photographs inside though.
