Palace Turath Almuluk

During the last two centuries, the area saw the construction of grand palaces and mansions by kings, princes, ministers, and religious dignitaries. This building is one such palace, built in the 18th century on an archaeological site with a history that dates back to the 9th century BC. Originally built as a summer residence, it was owned by a mufti to the great mosque of the region. The palace was surrounded by a lush garden, making it an idyllic retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Throughout its storied history, the palace has changed hands several times. It was eventually taken over by the state to put it to use for various projects. However, these were never realized, and the palace remained unused.

Today, the estate has been entrusted to the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture and Heritage Protection. The palace's architecture was designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding gardens and central basin. The gardens themselves are a breathtaking sight to behold, featuring a wide variety of trees including olive, orange, fig, pomegranate, peach, and palm.

The lower level of the palace is organized around a spacious service courtyard, while the upper level houses the palace's old private apartments, arranged around the central patio. The ceremonial room, built in the pure Arab-Muslim tradition, is perhaps the most impressive space in the palace. It's a testament to the palace's grandeur and elegance, which are truly awe-inspiring.
