Not much is left of this ancient castle. Among the ruins, the central tower and left corner turret are the last pieces still standing. Surrounded by large trees, ivy and weeds the castle is hard to spot from the nearby road. Luckily the swirly forest paths will always lead you in the right direction.
The castle was estimated to be constructed somewhere during the 15th or 16th-century by the son of the Duke of the area. The castle remained occupied until the beginning of the French Revolution. During this event, more than half of the castle was burned and destroyed.

As me and my friend were taking pictures of the caste some teenagers who were also present told us about the castle's legend. This old legend is a classic tragic tale. A commoner and the daughter of the local seigneur falling in love. But their families did not approve of the relationship. For that reason, the boy was forced to become a priest. The young woman died broken-hearted. Her spirit is said to haunt the ruins to this day. A ghost of an old, sad priest has also spotted at the ruins. A sad story but at least they found each other in the end I guess. 👻
