Arabesque Portal

Against the disorder of strewn rubble and wild vegetation, the pristine geometry of Neo-Moorish architecture rises with defiant grace. The building's white walls and ornate balustrades stand in stark opposition to the chaos at its feet, creating a powerful dialogue between preservation and decay.

Arabesque Portal

Constructed in 1930, this remarkable structure exemplifies the Neo-Moorish and Orientalist architectural movement, originally serving as a private residence before becoming a governmental building. The design showcases an exceptional fusion of modern construction philosophies with traditional local architectural elements, featuring distinctive horseshoe arches, ornamental balustrades, and classical cornices.

While these 2022 shots capture the building in a state of abandonment, its story has taken a positive turn. In 2024, restoration efforts have breathed new life into this architectural treasure, ensuring its preservation for future generations to appreciate its unique blend of Neo-Moorish and Arabist design elements.
