The Ecole Moyenne de Filles in Verviers, Belgium tells a fascinating story through its architectural grandeur. Constructed from 1874 to 1876 by renowned Brussels architects Benoît and Vanderstraeten, the school aimed to provide education for girls in a setting befitting its purpose. Inside, a magnificent glass roof shelters an inner courtyard, flooding the space with natural light - one can imagine the joy of students socializing beneath its glow.

Over the decades, the building evolved to house a nursing high school and later a secondary school, educating generations of young women. Though abandoned in 1998, its protected status ensured the structure would be thoughtfully restored rather than lost to time.
The 2019 reconversion preserved cherished heritage features while thoughtfully updating the space for modern use. Stepping inside today, one gets a sense of the diligence with which each detail was lovingly restored, maintaining a link to the past as the building continues serving the community into the future.
