Walking around this wonderful estate I was surprised by its unique architecture. Combined with the greenery and colorful flowers it really turned into an appealing scene. Like every Portuguese estate, this one is also decorated with lots of colorful hand-painted tiles.
The building was constructed at the end of the 19th-century for a professor that was specialized in planetology. In the decades that followed the ownership switched between different owners who all spend a great portion of their lives at the estate.

You wouldn't say it from the looks of it. But the building apparently contains some prison cells. And the story goes that high signatories linked to the Nazis were held here after the Second World War.
Currently, it doesn't seem that there are any new destination plans for the property. It seems to be abandoned for quite a while now. And I'm afraid it will remain like that.
