Monastère Antoinette

A near unrealistic sight stepping into the courtyard of this abandoned monastery. Almost fully overgrown with ivy plants. The time of the season added some incredible colors to the scene. I just noticed the cross in the center of the courtyard. It's completely covered by vegetation. The place breathes a deep abandonment.

The monastery was built at the beginning of the 20th-century. History of the site actually dates back to the 18th-century where there used to be a castle on this exact spot. There were no more remains of this castle to be found though.

During WWII, the building was captured by German soldiers. Luckily a few years later peace was brought back to the building. Later on, it transformed into a resting home with rooms for fifty people. At the beginning of the 21st-century, it no longer served any purpose. It’s been abandoned for well over a decade now.
